I'm sorry I haven't been in contact but sometimes you just need to take time for yourself. I am about to start taking a class at the New Orleans school of glassworks. It is a class that is going to teach me about Precious Metals Clay. This clay when fired turns into 99% silver. It will be another skill I will be able to use in my art of jewelry making. Amidst deciding to take that I also have cleaned out my room. I've thrown away things that once meant something and now have no meaning at all. I've gone through my papers and mt movies and just about everything. It makes me feel a sense of renewal in myself. While I was going through it I decided that I also wanted to rearrange my room. I feel like I'm starting over. Fall is just around the corner and I'm trying to get everything in orderand feel more organized in my own life. Sometimes it is just time.

I've realized that most of my life has been spent being upset about the way people treat me and so therefore I go to other people for advice....looking for approval. Lately I've been tired of it...I hate being the complainer or the whiny bitch...which is some of the reason I've not been writing...but I feel like I have nothing to talk about and therefore very silly...I've been over bearing to people, not meaning to be it's just my motherly nature. I NEVER want people to feel bad, and I think part of it is because I feel bad about myself much of the time...it's time for me to learn things about myself but I don't know where to start....for twenty-three years I've been looking for other peoples approval but the only approval that matters is my own. But how, after twenty three years do you learn things about yourself...it's not very easy...I have learned that I am a good person at heart...I may have my moments but I like helping people, creating things makes me happy and giving people things I've created makes me feel good, but it's time I give myself something creative or learn how to do something new instead of just giving my creativity away...I have learned that I'm afraid to take risks. Over the next few weeks I may be posting some strange blogs, but it may be things that I'm learning about myself...I honestly couldn't tell you a lot of the things that I like because I've conformed to my surroundings. I've loved things because often, other people have loved them...I don't know that much about music...I don't know that much aboutbooks, I can tell you howeverI love car rides...often by myself....I didn't think I liked alone time but I know I like to get in my car and drive around the city...just passing places that remind me often of good things and sometimes bad...it's like healing for me. I roll down my windows smoke a cigarette, I'll listen to certain CD's they don't necessescarily reflect my mood and some times they do but my favorites to listen to are the Ramones, Hedwig, Sarah McLachlan, Queens of the Stone Age, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Dave Matthews, and some mix cd's I have. So I guess there are somethings I know about myself....but I have to go deeper...one step at a time.

So lets see this week I'm house and dog sitting....and I've enjoyed it thoroughly. Hideout.

It makes me sad...last night apparently was the last night of the Hideout. Unfortunately I didn't find out about it until I read it on a friends site. I knew it was on its way and hopefully they'll find a new space. It really makes me sad that all of the fun places in New Orleans seem to have been closing. Maybe it's the fact that Mayor Nagin wants to do what Giuliani did for New York and turn the quarter into DisneyLand. I would like to say that the quarter will NEVER be that...there will always be someone being risque in this city. It seems to me that the country and the world is beginning to go through puritanical phase...it has happened throughout history and it always seems to be when people are scared. In the 50's and 60's it was the cold war, the threat of nuclear war, and now we have war again and it seems that people are such god fearing folk that because we have been "impure people" that is why we're going to war. and they'll be able to save themselves and everyone else if they "clean up"...babies let me tell you...it has nothing to do with "impurities" it's everything to do with government and money.

A couple of months ago I joined the Friendster revolution. Friendster is a site where you invite your friends to join a community where they will have their own profile. On your site you would see your profile and pictures of your friends and the descriptions your friends have about you, called testimonials. Then they can invite their other friends to be on it, and they tell two friends, and they tell two friends, and pretty soon everyone is connected to everyone else. I have 21 friends and connected to 75,000 people. It is amazingly addictive. Unfortunately, with its infectious quality they have amassed such a following that you can no longer retrieve the site. Friendster is a lot of fun and I suggest it in meeting new people and meeting your friends friends. If you go to it however, it says "Friendster is currently experiencing heavy site traffic, please try again in five minutes" Five minutes never comes...hopefully they'll get on the ball and it will be fixed soon.

Scuttle you will be missed.

Rate Me on BlogHop.com!

Since April 20th I've been without a personal car. Last week my mothers car that we were sharing killed which means we were surviving barely off of my Dad's truck. Freaking out for two days because I had too much going on in my life and lots and lots of places to go and no car. Friday I went to work and Saturday was work and my mothers retirement dinner. When I got into the car on Friday I asked my Dad if he was still interested in buying a car he was looking at for me. He said no and then I asked him if he was still thinking about buying my Mom a CR-V and he said no I already bought it. So tomorrow I will officially get the Acura. I would have gotten it today but it was raining and my Dad was at work. I cant even believe I'm going to have a car again.

So congratulations to all of my gay friends for being able to do your gay thing legally :) and to all the other people who just like funky butt sex congrats too. I think the actual announcement is probably what killed Strom Thurman. It somewhat disturbs me, the reaction that I've heard from some people. For the most part I've heard nothing but hoorays until today. With all of the rain I headed to my local craft store where I encountered a woman preaching her beliefs. She worked there and as I turned the corner I heard her say..."In the bible Jesus destroyed Sodom and Gamorrah and this decision is wrong and they will be judged...they will burn in hell" First of all Jesus didn't destroy Sodom and Gamorrah second of all I hope when she leaves she turns into a pilar of salt.

Yesterday was a really fun day. I met the Marquis at the hideout as he was getting off of work and went over to the country club for some drinks and laying out to get some sun on my pasty white skin. For once in a very long time I went swimming (I normally don't because I haven't owned a bathing suit in years, but an over sized t-shirt does wonders) which was nice, sans the fact that as soon as I got in the clouds were forming over short time there after it began to rain. When I was finally able to get myself home it was computer and nappy time. Later in the evening I went to the Marquis' artist reception. It was fun with lots of people I enjoy all around an open bar and fun jukebox. TJ met up with us later and ended up at Oz for a moment, where the weirdest people seem to try and talk to me including the guy who was a self proclaimed whore who works for skinamax spice and the playgirl channel. It was a great time and everyone had fun; I'm looking forward to movie night and 1984

So I went and it was good. I was interested to see how it would all turn out, the last four years were great and here it was, a new space a couple new faces, but the same great music and of course our favorite $1 special. There were a few things that will remind you of the shim sham when you walk in....1)same faces 2)the podium 3)the glitter dance box all making it feel familiar. 2 weeks ago I went to the final evening of the shim sham and was skeptical about how the move was going to end up. On the screen at the main dance floor there were clips of video from the funeral procession, it made a nice touch. In the front bar the walls were adorned with some familiar and beautiful artwork, Deana was bartending with Leo spinning, the main floor had Connor and upstairs they had Rhodes spinning as the Glitter section of the club. It was 2 theme nights all rolled into one. The first week I heard they didn't have very many people, but most people don't go out the week after a crazy night. This week they had a decent crowd and everyone looked like they were having a really good time dancing to the music slinging back a few rocks and trying to get back into the swing of things. It will never be the same, but if nothing ever changed where would we be. There were so many wonderful moments and people at the old venue...now it's the same great people new fun venue.

Tonight I went to the Bridge Lounge with TJ when we realized it was Doggie Rawhide 2010 night. By 12:30 the upstairs bar had run out of beer and by about 4 there was no more juice or soda. The air of the evening was that no one really thought about the fact that it was closing. Everyone was there to have a good time one last time in a bar they've all known. I stayed upstairs and drank with Flynn for the evening...I saw everyone I really wanted to see. There was an ice orgy, people dressed like aliens, Kate drinking the last Pabst in a can with only her underwear on. The place was blistering hot and no one seemed to mind it was a bunch of sweaty bodies slipping and sliding past one another. You'd see people you are friends with and people you hadn't seen in a long time. Everyone was there for a celebration...it was not the stench of a funeral, but a celebration of all of the good times and feelings wrapped up into one hot evening...In perfect fashion the line was down Toulouse and wrapping around the corner with an hour long wait...most of the evening the bar was filled to capacity. When one person would come out they'd let another in. At the end of the evening it was hard...I didn't stay until the last leg of it all, but I said my goodbyes...I hugged Izzo, and little Morgan and Flynn, and Meghan, and Leo, and Colette and Denver and Ben and Churchy, and Deana, and Leigh, with a drunken tear in my eye. Though I was a little sad to see it go I'm glad it went down in a blaze of glory, with everyone there on 6.6.6am

I've been reading a lot of what people have had to say about the closing of the shim sham.. I didn't quite know what I wanted to say until now...I may still not know, but I'm going to let my thoughts roam the page and play out...accept my apologies if I ramble.

Two years ago I worked on a show called party...the group that was here for that production came from all over the country. One Thursday night despite having to go to work in the morning I agreed to go to 1984 the 80's night at the shim sham. I have to say it was one of the most fun times I have had..the production company still talks about how much fun they had...I find it very fitting that when they chose to close the bar that it would be on their most popular evening. That night turned me on the the club and I've hung out there ever since. Flash forward one year later...I was handed the oportunity to work with a theatre troupe that used the space for their their theatre, I was thrilled. Over the last year there were many nights of rehearsals, good moments and bad moments, many shots of "Laura Borealis", a drink perfected by Laura Izzo, not to mention my new favorite drinking game. In nearly a year my theatre troupe has become part of my family and the Shim Sham was our home. I've made friends with such a wonderful group of people, whether they worked there or were just passing through. I had a chance to know the Revue girls and work with them for a couple of evenings...including when we opened for the Cramps concert....I've had such an amazing time, and I'm thankful for it. It is unfortunate that the venue is closing, and many people have said it's the end of an era...but it's our task to make our scene...find places that you like to hang out and spread the word. The shim sham amazingly found a bar that would take in their WHOLE STAFF for two different themed evenings...pretty amazing I'd say...just because the venue is gone doesn't mean your favorite staff and DJ's aren't still there...they'll be pouring cocktails and spinning your favorite songs at 735 Bourbon. I've heard many people are talking about going to Twiropa for an 80's night they are planning. I for one don't plan on going to twiropa. I'd much rather go to 735 and have it become the night I've known for the last two years...the familiar faces the music and everyone having a good time...as it always has been.

Wow! I haven't written since before my birthday...I guess I should have a lot to say. Let me start by saying I had one of the best birthdays I ever had....Wednesday the 28th of may...the day of...started with breakfast with a few friends, and ended up just enjoying my day. I also got a phone call from the Krewe of Satryicon to stage manage Bluebeard by Charles Ludlam. I am very excited about doing this peice especially with all of the people that are involved. That evening I went to the last Punk Rock Kareoke. I can't honestly tell you how many shots of Jaeger I did that night. Bartenders were so drunk they were being sent home. The next night was the second to last 1984...equally a good time, but different. I remember getting a birthday spanking from th elovely Otter ( a present worth a lot of money...I've heard what she charges for that sort of thing) and I remember riding on the back of a scooter to the hideout. but I don't remember getting home. Then on Saturday I met some of my boys out for drinks...a much more low key evening than the others, but it was perfect...even people I didn't expect to be there were. All in all a good time was had by all and this will definitely go down in the history books.

i have 3 days off...I had quasi plans that fell through...no big deal and ended up hanging with someone I don't usually get to hang with. In the last couple of weeks with so many things to think about, I realized I know very little of myself...I'm not saying there aren't things I know or like about myself...I'm just saying there are very basic things I don't know....I love music, but when asked I can't pick out a favorite...I don't have a collection and I want to know more; same goes with movies. When questioned on books I know very little...I find I like David Sedaris as a writer along with his sister the actress. I've realized I've never taken the time to find out what kinds of things I like and what I like to do...I love to create things but there are so many things out there I'd like to try. It's time...this summer is a self searching summer. I have some time. I'm not doing the RWS show (though I may do a show elsewhere) my time at work is getting cut because they don't really need as much. So the time is now. I'm going to catch up on reading, music, books, movies, and especially the computer. I keep saying I want to learn more, here's my chance. But where to start? I'm going to finish reading "Naked" by David Sedaris. I'm going to go buy the "Sounds of Sweden" CD (a band I heard on Letterman), I"m going to rummage throught the massive collection of movies my mother has and pick out one each week (despite movie night). If anyone has any suggestions of things I should try let me know. It's a good enough time as any to learn something new and something I may really enjoy.

I hate when people give me the runaround..if you have too much to do...or you already have plans just tell me...don't leave me hanging on...and if we already have plans...just call me and tell me...I'd much rather know that plans have been cancelled so I can go do other things...it seems to me that it would be much easier in this widespread communications age that picking up one of those nifty cellular devices would be easy....now where did I put my rotary telephone?

I got some advice today about how to keep people from beggin money off of me. I had a guy come in the store today and ask me for 75 cents so he could catch the bus, because his friends were arrested. I told him no and then asked him what his friends were arrested for...his reply was DWI...it seems to me he should have saved his money and not bought all the booze....So the girl who was in the store told me that next time before they can ask me ask them to spare some change...she said it confuses the hell out of them. So the next time someone asks you for cash so they can buy their next schlitz ask them for money first.

Recently I've had 2 people hit on me...and yes a couple of weeks ago I wanted people to be attracted to me....just not these people. Number 1) a street performer who tells me he doesn't have any money, but buys me a little stuffed duck, and he only has a dollar to his name....then he tells me how interested in me he is...litterally 2 seconds later he tells me about the girl he has a date with in an hour... Number 2) In the walgreens parking lot on St. Charles avenue I pull into a spot...the window on my mothers car doesn't go all the way up so I have to use a suction cup to keep it up. I get out of the car and the two guys in the car next to me ask me what it's for...so I explain. I run inside for my various and sundries and when I come out the passenger has gotten out of the car and begins to say Have we met before? I reply no...then he asks me my name....I told him Michelle (my fake name for when I don't want people to know who I really am)...it is at this point that I realize that he has gold teeth with suits of cards etched into them...while he's telling me that his name is Wyld Wayne...YES with the y...then he asks if I'm married...which I promptly reply...yes...his next question is if I'm happy in my marriage...a more prompt reply of yes....then he tells me if I'm never not happy in my marriage that I should come find him at such and such entertainment (basically in the ghetto)..I say thanks and drive away into my happy marriage....as a side note...I'm not named Michelle, I'm not married, never have been...I just need to meet a nice boy is that so much to ask? I've had a lot going on in my head...some good a lot bad...I'm just at that point right now I need some time to think about things but if I think about them too hard...it makes me a little nutty. More often than not lately I've felt undeserving of love and care. Stupid I know, but my lack of self-confidence is getting the best of me. I feel as if people don't need me...some things in particular make me feel this way lately...I really like it when people need me to do things...it makes me feel important. As stressed out as I can get it still makes me feel like I have a purpose. It's sort of a maternal instinct. I guess I've just been a little sad lately, because all I do is work...I do go out but for the most part that has been unfulfilling. This weekend has been one of the more fulfilling weekends I've had in a while, thanks to certain people. I'm not meaning for this to be a sad depressing blog this evening or ever. I think I may just have a lot on my mind and hadn't shared it with anyone. Then as I'm going to spend time with them I'm following my neighbor to the restaurant and he speeds up and cuts someone off. As I try to catch up with him my car flips out...I'm able to get somewhere to put oil in it...when we tried to get it back to my house it flipped out again. So last night my car stayed in the parking lot of the piccadilly cafeteria on carrollton. It seems the transmission is going kaput and there's some weird sound coming out of it (yes those are the scientific terms) On a side note, I stage managed the Shim Sham Revue last night. I had a fabulous time. Both shows went terrifically. There's this fabulous old magician, vaudevillesque, who got a standing ovation last night. When everyone else had gone onstage to take their bows, Becky Allen and I were standing backstage and she tells me "I that old man could have cum he would have"...I laughed so hard. The first time I saw Becky perform I must have been about 12 and I saw "Where the Boys Are" at the Toulouse Street Theatre (now the Shim Sham) so it was fun working with Becky for the first time in the theatre I work in and the theatre I first saw her perform. I probablly shouldn't have been drinking last night, not because I got drunk, but because I was so tired that the littlest things were bothering me and alcohol didn't help...but I'm over it now. The next two weeks should be interesting because it's Jazz Fest. I work everyday and if I don't have a car it's going to make things a lot harder.

Bottom Line: Exhausted, Excited about a lot but nervous about my car

Alright, so I had to go to traffic court today it's costing me 145 dollars AND 50 cents...oh well at least I won't have to worry about it anymore...and on a happy note I GOT MY PHONE BACK...so you can all start calling me again

So, Grey Gardens was an interesting movie...very glad I watched it...So I was checking out Jonno's new project and there are 4 people I know who entered 1, 2, 3, 4 And in all honesty, I don't know if I want to enter my answers. Thanks to TJ for this great cosmic tribute to Ms. Warwick

I work in a bead shop...that's right...the new job is just about the same as the old but different. I prefer this job more...also you meet such interesting characters. Yesterday I had just opened the shop when two women walked in and asked to buy a certain necklace in the case. I had rung them up when one of them said "oh she'd like something else" and proceeded to walk around for a moment and walk out. They hadn't paid for the necklace and they didn't take it. Odd I said to myself when I looked down and noticed a package of Kool cigarettes and picked it up to throw it away....I looked inside and realized there was a broken crack pipe inside....ahhhh it's so interesting to work in the quarter. Though it was a great day! I made some great sales and made some tips and all around had a great day. DON"T FORGET ALL!!! I'm stage managing the Shim Sham Revue this Sunday coming up I should hope to see everyone there.

I got this from a friend thought some might appreciate it...

According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were
kids in the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's or even the early 80's, probably
shouldn't have survived.
Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint.
We had no childproof lids or locks on medicine bottles, doors, or
cabinets, and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets.
Not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking...
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special
treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. Horrors!
We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but
we were never overweight because we were always outside playing.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one
actually died from this.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode
down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the
bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were
back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. No
cell phones. Unthinkable!
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at
all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal
cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms. We had friends! We
went outside and found them.
We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt. We
fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but
us. Remember accidents?
We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned
to get over it.
We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were
told it would happen, we did not put out any eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or
rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them.
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who
didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment.
Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and
were held back to repeat the same grade. Horrors!
Tests were not adjusted for any reason.
Our actions were our own. Consequences were expected.
The idea of parents bailing us out if we got in trouble in school or
broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the school or the law.
Imagine that!
This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem
solvers, and inventors, ever. We had freedom, failure, success, and
responsibility... and we learned how to deal
with it. And you're one of them! Congratulations.
Please pass this on to others who have had the luck to grow up as kids
before lawyers and government regulated our lives for our own good!

Lost my phone while I was at the movies...ironically I was going to see phone booth. Not in a bad way though....I've still gotten a good bit done around the house....I have a rehearsal today at four..."But Liz," you say "Aren't you already doing the show, why do you have a rehearsal?" That's because I was asked for one weekend only to stage manage the revue. I expect to see all of you there....besides if you haven't seen it already what are you waiting for? So I was asked by my friend Andrew who is their stagemanager now...he's going out of town....this should be fun. Have a show tonight I expect you there as well...we only have 2 weekends left.

Damn I haven't written in a long time....Well...I lost my job opened a show worked 50 hours for the Tennesse Williams Festival got another job where I'll be working 40 hours a week and I'm STILL doing the show...you can say it's been rather busy....So where does this leave me....in a better place..for once my bills are paid and I can enjoy myself...unfortunately I won't have time to do that....c'est la vie...I'll have to make time. I'm working in the quarter now...maybe it'll get me off my ass and move out of my house...it's about time. Not that I don't love every minute of it, but sometimes it's nice to have a day not to do anything. The trouble now is that I have more time on my hands that I won't know what to do with it. Though I'm working for the Tennessee Williams Festival this week...next week I'll have lots of time on my hands. I finally was able to get some rest. Well worth it. The show went interestingly the first night. A full audience including critics... In the middle of the first act a man decided to have a heart attack. Apparently he was alright and it wasn't a heart attack at all. Though it was interesting watching the cast get the audience back into it and they did beautifully. Saturday night went much better. Everyone needs to come see the show...if you haven't ordered tickets already DO IT. I have to be at work mighty early in the morning but I Claudius will be great... Time to relax and enjoy....again I'm sorry I haven't been writing but my mind has been on other things.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone...it's been quite a week...I'm sorry I haven't written in a while but I've been a little busy Things are coming together now...we have our opening night on Friday which is sold out thanks to the Mystic Krewe of Satyricon. I was going to go to the Lords of Leather ball..I hope you all performed wonderfullyy and i'm sorry I didn't go...except I knew I would have been sitting by myself, so I tried to go to Bacchus, but I failed...I went down St. Charles (stupid me) and started being harrassed. Not to mention if you tried to find parking there was no way of finding parking....unless you paid to park....I would not have had a problem with that if parking had not been $25. I've grown up in New Orleans all of my life and I really appreciate the uniqueness of Mardi Gras, but there's an extent....I reached that extent tonight. I don't mind one or two drunken people when I'm having a drink, but not a couple million. I will participate in Mardi Gras day I will have a good time with all of my friends, I will have a couple of drinks and I'm not going to let this evening ruin my fun. Though I think that I will be a much happier camper when they start to leave, and the city starts weighing trash to find out how successful this season has been.

Does no one understand why New Orleanians get excited about carnival ending....I enjoy parades and the likes but when you can't get anywhere and they've closed off all parking in the french quarter...it's not so much fun. I picked out a costume today I'm going as a punk rock alice in wonderland. It should be interesting...the whole costume is made of netting....I still have to make it. When I went to the parade I realized there are certain things locals get excited about, but tourists are just fucking crazy. I would hear the clinking of the dubloons on the sidewalk and watch people push others for them...I saw kids get knocked out of the way because adults wanted the pearls...Then again the locals have their own bits of crazy...like "band mothers" you know the moms who walk with the band and scream "STEP BACK!!!" or "STEP BEHIND THE CURB" even when you're three feet behind the curb. It just makes me happy to know that even though we may be going into some form of war....that in new orleans the most important thing are the beads worth three cents that won't be worth that when it comes around to Wednesday.

Most of the time I don't enjoy my job, recently however, after certain "talks" not good ones in particular, I suddenly got along with my co-workers. Maybe somethings she said hit me, maybe it just made me realize we're all in the race called life (as cliche as that sounds). I was DREADING working at the uptown store, but it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. A girl I had never worked with is REALLY fun. When I worked at that location originally I worked with a bunch of girls who were all in a sorority...the same sorority. I don't have anything against sororities, I just have things against girls who think they're better than everyone else because they're members of one. ALL I ever heard was what they were doing and what their sorority plans were...very tiring. But the girl I work with now is very cool. And today I found out one of the other girls got engaged...and because we were very short handed it was an instant bond. Tomorrow is my day off...I have much to do....lot's of laundry and I have to finish getting my things together for rehearsal. After I got some sleep last night I felt better...I have my thoughts together too...or better than I did...1)Sometimes I just have to remind myself that I am not the center of the entire universe. 2)Don't sweat the small stuff...and it's all small stuff.

I just need a breather but I have no time to take a breather. The kind of shoes that make your legs look fabulous...they are the kinds of shoes that make a woman look like she's powerful...the unfortunate side of this is that most of the time they are so uncomfortable that the only good they are is standing and moving to sit on a bed for some sort of romp...but in a way that's not so unfortunate...and maybe it does make us powerful and sexy at the same time.

Sad really, I haven't been writing often because I've been frustrated with myself and situations going on around me. On another note Krewe du Vieux is tonight my sister is in it...I've NEVER been to this parade would you believe it? It should prove to be interesting. I had a dream that scared the crap out of me last night...I dreamt that I was getting on the interstate at one point and then from the same exit...getting off of it halfway across town. So, my friend Brian persuaded me to help him with some work he needed to get done...what this really meant was come to my office and play on my computer while I work..granted his realjob is a lot more fun...so here I am. Not really doing much of anything except talking to the people who read my blog. A fine few I might add. Tomorrow I'm going to get some house work done I think...I would REALLY like to go out and have lunch with anybody who wants to. So, it's official I'm actively going to persue finding another job. It's about time...I realized in the last few days that I'm truly not happy...though I'm going to miss my discount...although I may keep the job for one day a week so I can still have my discount....so anyone who knows of a job I might enjoy let me know! I hope it all works out...although I should have realized that I was unhappy sooner than this considering all the former circumstances. C'est la vie....hope everyone is doing great...I still wish some random person would email me...just for the hell of it...all4theatre@excite.com

[ series 5 - best on someone else ]
-- Best eye color? I've been very tired lately and I'm afraid I'm getting sick. It seems all I've been doing is working during the day. My job told me I'm going to have to work at the uptown store, something I dread. I dread it because one of my friends was killed near there and my car was broken into shortly after. Not to mention it takes me forever to get there and by the time I'm done I'm exhausted and have to take the long drive home. On the good side I'll be really close to rehearsal. Tonight I'll be working on craft projects either knitting, sewing sequins, or gluing rhinestones. Sounds like a wild time to me...actually it's the perfect night to do this because it's cold and rainy..nice night to cozy in with a movie and some crafts or maybe a book.

So I haven't REALLY written in the last few days. A few weeks ago I met a guy from Australia who was going to see the launching of this space shuttle. For years he had been trying to be there just to see it once. I remember 1986 I believe was when Challenger exploded. I was 6 and I remember all the news coverage, and talking about the teacher who was killed. I remember how I thought to myself I would be very sad if it was Ms. Crochet...she was my teacher. One day, very shortly after the explosion, my dad was picking me up from the schoolyard and I found a piece of metal on the ground. It had a slight resemblance to a piece of swiss cheese. The holes were mechanically cut out of it, not burned out not punched out...but I turned to my father and I actually said..."daddy maybe this is a piece of the shuttle" Knowing that it wasn't he still told me maybe it was. It's funny how such an incident can bring back such memories so vividly.

Well, after a long week of standing at my job (eww retail) I had a rehearsal for DRAMARAMA this evening and I have 2 tomorrow evening. All I know is that it was just nice to come home tonight and realize I didn't have to go to my normal day job tomorrow. Weekends are awesome. So it's going to be a CRAZY Thursday night. Guess what I'm going to do? That's right STAY HOME! I'm going to stay home and work on my knitting. Finally an evening to just relax at my house. It's funny because I've been home the last couple of nights but they haven't been relaxed because I've had too much to do. My dad is a fireman. My father the hero. Every little girl thinks of her daddy as the only man who will always love her...unconditionally. The other day I saw my dad on TV talking about a fire that he helped put out. And when September 11th hit it made me realize how much my father really does; how every day he risks his life to save people and their belongings. It almost makes you think he could do no wrong....almost...today those thoughts about my Dad that I've had since September 11th, if not my whole life, took a disturbing turn when I caught my father looking at nudie girl pictures. I didn't say anything, although when I spoke to him a few moments later there was an awkward pause. Now don't get me wrong....I appreciate naked boys as much as the next person, but when you're forced to think of your parents in ANY sexual way. It could possibly scar someone for life. Maybe someday, after long drawn out therapy sessions I'll learn to cope. As for now...eeeeewwww.

Things that aggrivate the CRAP out of me...when I call like 5 people throughout the day, one of which wasn't home (that's ok) but when I get in touch with the other 4 and each of them tells me "I'll call ya right back" and I don't hear from them for 3 days...that's just annoying. I've never had a boyfriend and I've never really dated anyone. Kinda sad really, but it always made me wonder if anyone I've ever met had a thing for me or maybe didn't say anything. Well, it turns out that a boy I met 4 years ago (that was very good friends with a friend of mine) thought I was "amazing". Unfortunately, as with most of these stories...they lost contact and I haven't seen him since. Not to mention I didn't know....I must admit that I am flattered. For the most part it's going well and next week I'm going hardcore into it...the exercise and all. So I will have this Wednesday off and I do believe I'm going to get a piercing. I've been wanting to get my cartilidge redone so I think that's my agenda for that day. Also...one more of those funny things that only (it seems) happen to me. I went out for a short time this evening got home about 45 minutes ago which would be about 2am my time. Walked in my house, for those who don't know I live with my family, I can hear my sleeping parents in their room. Quietly walk to my door and realize I have locked myself out of my own room. I tried everything...pushing it open, using a credit card, and just trying to pick the lock...until 20 minutes later when I suddenly realize that the screws are on the ouside of the door and I could have just taken the doornob off 20 minutes ago. At my job there's a girl who I just happened to know from doing theatre in high school. We realized that we know the exact same people from high school. I may have realized that the world is small, but that may not be such a good thing...you see I no longer like a LOT of the people I went to high school with. To tell you the truth I didn't like them then. Amusing story, my friend Boyd, went to dinner with his new brother-in-law and his brother-in-laws friends. When dinner was over they decided to go to a "titty-bar". Although Boyd is a little light in the loafers he agreed to go. (I know you're starting to ask yourself where's the amusing part come in?) WELL what I hadn't told you is that Boyd's brother-in-law gave him 10 pounds of frozen tuna. So...when they ended up at the "titty-bar" and the dancers asked him if he wanted a lapdance, he looked down and said..."I think I have enough tuna in my lap for one night".

Just when you thought it was safe....I always seem to let fear get in the way. This year my resolution is to not let fear get in the way of myself. For some strange reason I have a lot of anxiety. TOTALLY need to get over that. What's the use of being anxious it just makes everything a lot harder. It bothers me when I think people are angry or annoyed as crap at me...that's because I know deep down inside I'm a genuinely good person and I would hate to think that I could have made someone upset I only like to make people happy. What I never thought about was what makes ME happy. When I finally find something that makes me happy I get anxious and afraid that I'm going to screw it up. How silly is that. So I guess my resolution this year isn't to let fear get in the way of myself, rather than BE myself. What's the use in worrying if your cards will fall how they will anyway. {And now for something completely different} Just yesterday I was at work. An older woman walked in and was paying for a very expensive necklace she had repaired. Unfortunately she didn't know it was going to be so expensive. When it came to about $80 she threw a minor hissy and after she paid basically stormed out of the store. A few short moments later, one of my co-workers, came to look for her keys....after searching the whole store they were not found. Coming to the conclusion that the angry old lady must have picked them up she called the lady who denied having them. When footage was rolled back on the store security cameras...plain as day was the lady taking the keys....There's some moral to this story I'm just not quite sure what it is

My life is a roller-coaster. I just ended a show and now I'm working on DramaRama, after that we start rehearsal again, not to mention I hold a job and a social life. It can be easy to get stressed, but I have finally been able to relax catch up on sleep and such. Although I'm relaxed it made me realize, from working with the free-range hams to making jewelry for Old Metairie ladies, that my life is the least bit boring.

This is the first time I've blogged I'm not quite used to this but little by little I'll be able to learn more.
